School is out for summer. week 1

Its that time again, it comes around so fast school summer holidays, 6 weeks of trying to keep the kids entertained, the first week is over and it wasn’t actually as bad as i thought. We kicked off the week with Robert and Thomas birthday, I cant believe they have just turned 8. We took them to the local leisure centre soft play with a few of our neighbours.  The kids had good fun running around for 2 hours. Our Go active cards came in handy as the price for all 8 kids should of been £40.00 but we managed to get them all in for £24.00. we had a fun day the kids were very tired, we walked them along to McDonalds afterwards for happy meals, What kids doesn’t love a trip to mcdonalds, Thomas loves to go he always eats loads when he is there usually his happy meal, chicken nuggets and a double cheeseburger, he didn’t eat anything else for the rest of the night. It is worth the money to see them happy.

Thomas has been asking to go to a posh restaurant for weeks to have spaghetti and meatballs, thanks to Lady and the Tramp, his favourite movie at the minute. we went to a lovely little Italian restaurant & pizzeria in Newcastle city centre called portofino for opening at 12.00,  We wanted to get there early so it would be nice and quiet. The boys don’t like busy and noisy places, even tho there the noisiest kids you can meet lol bonus as we were first in to the restaurant, The server sat us right near the door and next to a big window, Everyone was happy we ordered our starters we all had  potato skins and Chloe had bbq chicken wings, for our mains, I had carbonara, Michael had lasagne Chloe & bob had pepperoni pizza with chips and tom got spaghetti and meatballs with chips. I ordered his food all separate so the sauce was not touching the spaghetti, but when it arrived it was all together on the plate, i was worried he wouldn’t like it but he wolfed it down. we will definitely be making another visit to the restaurant,

we enjoyed a more relaxed day on the Wednesday we bought Waterslides from Aldi, the kids had so much fun. we ended up buying a second waterside to put alongside the other.  I love days like that as they play all day and they have a lot of fun.

We have a really good little park not too far away from us, Stone hill park its a sand park with a huge pirate ship slide, baby swings, and water features for the kids to play in, the top half of the park is grass with older kid play equipment, its a good day out but gets busy. we were lucky enough to go late in the evening so wasn’t to busy.

The Holidays so far have been good fun, hopefully it continues we have a big list of stuff to work through to keep the kids entertained.
